What is the perfect gift for a teenager? Who knows – they themselves may not know. What a teenager is into changes every single day; adults can lose track of their teenagers’ kicks. Face it – the worlds of adults and teens have always been, and will always be, very different in nature, composition and dynamics.
Money, Gadgets, Food: Universal Gifts
One type of gift that is very hot right now is any kind of expensive gadget. If it’s high-tech and cool, it will be a hit. Another idea is to get them something related to their hobbies and interests. If the gift will be the ever-popular standby of cash, there may be a way to dress it up. Get them into the spirit of Christmas by having them open their own presents. Most people just place gift cards or money in a Christmas card; a special treat would be to bake them their favorite cookies or brownies, put them in a fancy box with the money on top, and then wrap it up. What kid, young or old, doesn’t want to rip open presents on Christmas? And food is a great way to give an extra gift to the teenager who has everything!
What to Buy for a Teenage Girl?
For the teenage girl, there are a thousand gifts out there to be given at Christmas. Which one should it be? This is the ultimate question. It can be very frustrating to buy a Christmas gift for a teenage girl but, with a little research and planning, a gift can be given which will make for a Christmas to remember. An absolutely trendy and pleasurable gift is to buy her a spa treatment. If the teen girl is into fitness or yoga, a private yoga class can be a great gift. After all the excitement and stress of the holidays, these gifts will definitely make her smile.
What to Buy for a Teenage Boy?
Teenage boys, in particular, can be extremely difficult to buy presents for. Sometimes, it can be hard to understand what they specifically want, but there are ways of finding out. It can be as simple as picking a “manly” gift. R/C Vehicles, video game consoles – don’t forget the games! – skateboards, etc. are always wonderful gifts for a teenage guy. Concert tickets are a favorite; make them even more special by including backstage passes. They’ll never forget such a unique experience. Or, find out what they’re interested in. If they like a particular NFL team buy them the whole kit, complete with hat, jersey, etc. – maybe even take them to a game afterwards!
Christmas Relief: Ask!
If all else fails, ask! This can be tricky as well. The perfect strategy would be to ask them today what they want. Then ask again next week. And then ask again a month from now. If the answer doesn’t change then the gift has chosen itself! If the answer changes a lot, or even every time, pick one that’s somewhere in the middle – or, better yet, get all of them! Teenagers are guaranteed to love this idea.
I have two teenagers and I purchased the Playstation Move to keep them out of trouble, plus they have been asking for this for quite some time…Also, I get to watch Netflix directly through the Ps3!! Very Exited!
