How to create a beautiful Christmas table

Christmas is that magical time of the year when you spend hours creating the perfect dinner and days choosing thoughtful gifts for friends and family. You can make Christmas extra special by spending a little time creating a wonderful Christmas table. Whether you are dining with family or a group of friends, a beautiful Christmas table really sets the mood for a wonderful evening. You can plan to do your own decorating or get readymade decorations depending upon your mood and your inclination. Here are some helpful hints to guide you along the way.
A few suggestions

  1. Centerpieces can bring beauty to your Christmas table and you also have the option to place a Christmas Center piece on any table, book shelf, fireplace mantle or any place you want to bring attention to.
  2. Christmas Centerpieces can be made from all sorts of bits and pieces and you can decorate them with different things; the potential is limitless. Christmas Centerpieces are generally made with flowers or garland and are accented with candles, ornaments, pine cones, ribbons, etc.
  3. You can have a Christmas fruit basket centerpiece using real or artificial fruit that will last the entire Christmas holiday season or you can create a poinsettia centerpiece using fresh or artificial poinsettia plants or stems.
  4. Using a collection of family photos from years past to create a Christmas photo centerpiece is a novel and a touching idea.
  5. If you have more than one table you could consider using table names instead of numbers. You might like to name the Christmas tables ‘mistletoe’, ‘reindeer’, ‘Santa’ or ’snow’.

Do’s

  • Keep centrepieces low so that guests can see over the top or keep them slim and tall so they can see around them.

Don’ts

  • Don’t make your centre piece something that is too heavily scented or it will interfere with the flavor of the food.
