Eggnog Christmas Recipe

Eggnog is loved by all; here is a famous recipe to bake it at its best.


  • 4 cups milk
  • 12 egg yolks
  • 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
  • 1+ 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 4 cups cream
  • 3 cups light rum
  • 2+ 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 5 cloves, whole


  1. Over low heat, blend the milk in a sauce pan along with the cinnamon, five cloves and half teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  2. Stir continuously until the mixture heats up and remove from fire once it is about to reach the boiling point.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks and sugar.
  4. Which well in order to bring the mixture to a lighter and fluffier texture.
  5. Pour the milk over the mixture while whisking continuously.
  6. Put the mixture back into the saucepan over medium heat. Stir thoroughly.
  7. Stir the eggnog until it has started to thicken such that it resembles into a custard.
  8. Never allow for the mixture to reach the boiling point.
  9. Remove the cloves by pouring the mixture in a strainer and into the jug.
  10. Allow the jug o stand in the fridge for like two hours.
  11. Fold in the cream, vanilla, rum and ground nutmeg.
  12. Let the mixture stay overnight in the fridge.
  13. Serve the eggnog in mini cups topped with ground nutmeg or sprinkled cinnamon and baking cocoa.
