It also involves a piñata that children attempt to break open in order to get the toys and candy that are in the piñata. In some parts of Mexico Christmas Eve is more important than Christmas Day.

In Japan Christmas is a time in which couples take romantic walks around parks and neighborhoods to see the Christmas lights and Christmas decorations. Many marriage proposals are said to take place at Christmas time in Japan. Santa Claus is known in Japan but Santa Claus is not as important in Japan as he in The United States. New Years Eve and New Years Day are more important in Japan than Christmas. A special white cake with white frosting and strawberries is made during Christmas time because the cake is supposed to represent the birth of the baby Jesus.

Sweden

In Sweden Christmas time is all about food. Christmas day ham is eaten in Sweden with many kinds of fish and sweets. In Sweden there are many smorgasbords during Christmas where there is all the food that can be imagined.
